Follow up of the presentation by asking question and clarifying our doubts. In this follow up we found out that all the 3 types of questioning type are interrelated. The types of questioning are
  1. Socratic question:
  • In this teacher act as not knowing anything.
  • help the student to think critically
  • teach the student through question
  • student should have the knowledge (meta-cognition)
    2. Bloom's Taxonomy
  • Its all about six level of thinking
  • Usually it has 3 type
[Remember and understanding-Convergent question strategy]
[Applying and analyzing-Divergent questioning strategy]
[Evaluating and creating-Evaluating questioning strategy]

3.   Kipling's questioning
  • Very much align with Bloom's taxonomy and Socratic questioning.
 Do's and Don't
Don't
  •   Don’t always expect the ‘right answer’ but an ‘acceptable response.’
  •  Do not pose yes/no questions, as they do little to promote thinking or encourage discussion.
  •  Do not pose questions that are vague, ambiguous, or beyond the level of the students.
  •   Don’t interrupt students’ responses. Interruption will decrease the students’ ‘responsibility quotient.’
  •   Don’t be sarcastic or cynical.
  •   Don’t self-answer. Mary Budd Rowe calls it an idiosyncrasy
  •   Don’t leave responding students unattended.
  •   Don’t have pets to call upon.
